How to think about product
Who is it for, what does it replace, and why would anyone switch? The questions that decide whether your build matters.
Don't forget to bring your laptop.
One challenge, presented by Tech for Palestine. 100 people: builders, creatives, strategists, anyone who wants to take action. Boycott lists contain thousands of products, but ethical alternatives may not exist for every complicit company, and switching can feel daunting to regular users.
Two ways in. Build an ethical, privacy-preserving alternative to a complicit technology, or migrate: where good alternatives exist, help tens of thousands of users switch through automation, integrations, content and advocacy.
A working prototype or campaign, plus a full strategy for validation, go-to-market and growth. A software platform, a browser plugin, a migration guide, a data export tool, an advocacy campaign: what matters is that it addresses the challenge head on. The best projects are supported by the Tech for Palestine Incubator after the event.
Example targets. Stripe, Shopify, PayPal, WhatsApp, Spotify, Wix, Figma, Vercel, Microsoft, Instagram, Google. Five minutes per team at demo time: problem and goal, target users, working prototype, go-to-market, growth.
Builders, creatives and strategists. You can also come as an observer without joining a team.
One challenge from Tech for Palestine, aimed at a mass migration to ethical technologies.
Campaigns, design and product, taught in the morning so every team builds with what it learned.
A pitch competition at the end: prototype in hand, strategy for what comes next.
Every attendee picks a role when registering.
Software developers, data analysts, AI experts.
Designers, UI/UX professionals, copywriters.
Executives, consultants, campaigners.
Coming just to watch the day without joining a team.
General admission is free. If you're able to contribute, there's an optional 30 USD solidarity ticket. Participation is free either way.

Tech for Palestine is first and foremost an incubator for advocacy projects. It supports anyone with a meaningful idea: working against media censorship, using tech to aid protests, scaling boycotts, pushing for tech divestment, supporting Palestinian entrepreneurs, and more. To date it has supported over 90 projects, each one contributing to a free Palestine in its own way.
